About Still Volume

Still Volume is a small publishing platform for people who collect cameras and lenses. A page about one object should read like a feature in an independent magazine: the photographs given room, the writing set for comfortable reading, and nothing else competing for attention.

How pages are composed

Authors decide what a page says, in what order, and what matters most. A composition engine decides the layout. It chooses from a small set of layouts drawn by hand, measures the writing with the actual typefaces, respects each photograph's proportions, and keeps the reading order. It never crops a photograph unless the author allows it. The engine is ordinary code with no artificial intelligence: the same page always composes the same way.

What is stored

Each photograph is kept as a high-quality copy up to 2,560 pixels on its long edge, with a few smaller versions for fast loading. Location and camera metadata are removed. This is publishing storage, not a backup: keep your original files.

No advertising, no tracking

Pages carry no advertisements, trackers or promoted content. Reading never needs an account. Free pages look exactly like paid ones; plans differ only in how much they can hold.

Plans

Free accounts hold 10 objects, 3 stories and 150 MB of photographs. A Collector plan for larger collections is planned; until it is on sale, ask the site owner if you need more room.
